A garden made for the Mediterranean climate
Many gardens on the coast were planted with plants that need a lot of water. With hot summers and dry years, they become hard work and expensive to keep green.
A Mediterranean garden uses plants that love sun and heat and need little water once they are settled. It looks good all year, attracts bees and butterflies, and needs less maintenance.
Plants that do well on the Costa del Sol
We choose plants that suit your garden, the sun and the wind, and how much time you spend here.
- Lavender and rosemary
- Agave, aloe and other succulents
- Bougainvillea and bird of paradise (strelitzia)
- Olive trees
- Ornamental grasses
Low-water gardens and lawn replacement
A low-water garden is sometimes called a xeriscape. It combines tough plants with gravel or bark beds, which keep moisture in the soil and stop weeds. Drip irrigation then gives each plant just what it needs.
If you have a lawn that is always brown and thirsty, we can replace all or part of it with planting and gravel. We also plant up terraces and pots for apartments and townhouses.
From plan to planting and aftercare
It starts with a WhatsApp message or the form. We visit your garden, or look at your photos, and talk about what you would like. You then receive a simple plan and a free quote with no obligation.
Autumn and early spring are the best times to plant on the Costa del Sol, as the soil is warm and the rain helps new plants settle. After planting, we can water and care for the new garden while it gets established, and send you photos if you are away.
